Ode to the Forgotten is a reflective piece dedicated to the forgotten people in the Singaporean cultural landscape. Inspired by Tan Pin Pin's 'Singapore GaGa', it also seeks to serve as an "imaginary soundtrack" to the film by drawing auditory elements from the film and transforming them into musical materials. One example is the "Buy My Tissue Paper" song found in the middle section, which is inspired by Mdm Liang Yu Tao, a disabled lady who makes her living by selling tissue paper to passersby in MRT stations. The composer hopes to use this piece to remember the countless stories of past generations of Singaporeans that will soon be forgotten.

Commissioned and premiered by Singapore Wind Symphony
